Fix a CD by cleaning it with microfiber cloth.

From time to time, you might notice that a CD keeps ejecting when you try to play it. This might happen due to a wide variety of reasons. If the CD format were incompatible, there is no way you can make it play on the CD player. However, if there were scratches on the disc, you can fix it to make sure that it stays in the CD player and plays without any interruption.

Instructions

    • 1

Buy an anti-static, microfiber cloth and a CD-cleaning spray. These are available in most electronics stores in the CD/DVD section.

    • 2

Spray some cleaning fluid on the cloth. You can also use rubbing alcohol if you can't find a CD-cleaning spray.

    • 3

Rub the cloth on the magnetic surface of the CD starting from the center and going toward the outer edge of the disc.

    • 4

Wait for a few minutes until the cleaning fluid/rubbing alcohol dries.

    • 5

Insert the CD into the CD player. The CD should stay within the player and start playing its contents without any interruption.
