No matter where the crack is on the exhaust, you can patch it using steel putty. Almost every auto parts store sells this putty. Steel putty will bond with the metal on the exhaust and seal any crack. You can patch the cracks at you home in about 24 hours.

      Park your ATV on a clean dry surface and allow the engine and exhaust to completely cool. You will avoid serious burns by doing this.

      Clean the crack and surrounding area with a towel soaked with gas. This will remove any oil and carbon buildup.

      Place a small amount of steel putty inside the crack to fill it. Place more steel putty over the crack and surrounding area. Smooth the putty with your finger and allow the steel putty to dry over night.

  • Never smoke or use any type of heat source when working with or around gas.
