How to Wire Fence Knots
The chain mesh of a chain-link fence is held together in two different ways. At the corners and gate posts, the mesh is attached by means of metal bands held together by bolts. However, along most of the fence line the mesh is attached to the line posts and the fence railing by means of simple, knotted wire ties. This makes tying a wire fence knot one of the elementary skills in putting up a chain-link fence. Does this Spark an idea?

Tips & Warnings
An alternative method is to tie the wire to the fence. Hold the wire tie above the rail or beside the post and loop one end around the mesh. Tie it down by twisting the wire around itself. Then run the wire across the face of the post/rail so it reaches the chain mesh on the other side. Loop the other end around the mesh and twist it down again.
