How to Add Cool Text to a Photo
You can add text to your photos with the help of a number of different editing and or graphics programs. Programs such as Paint Net, Picasa 3 and Picnik will allow you to customize your wording by creating unique colors, sizes and fonts.

Download the latest version of Paint Net. Take the steps provided by the program to install the required components.

Open the program by double-clicking on the icon and upload the picture that you wish to edit. Zoom in on the picture 100 percent to give you an idea of how big the picture and the text will turn out.

Click on the tool for text editing, which is a button with a letter on it. You will see the "I-beam" cursor that signifies you can start adding text to your picture.

Left-click anywhere inside the picture. You will see a text box. Type the text that you wish to appear on your photo, and select a font, size and color for it.

Click on the "File" tab and select "Save as." Name your picture and save it.
Picasa 3

Download Picasa 3; the program will automatically organize your photos. Choose the photo to which you wish to add text, double-click on it and editing tools will appear on the right-hand side of your screen.

Select the text tool; select the font, size and color you would like to use for your photo.

Type the wording you wish to use; you can change the angle of the wording by rotating the handle on the circle positioned in the middle of the text box.

Save your photo by selecting "File" and "Save as." Name your photo. Your photo will be saved with your text added.
Picnik

Navigate to the Picnik site and click the "Upload" button. Browse for your photo on your desktop and select it.

Click the "Create" tab. Add your text to the text box in the upper left corner and click "Add." A box with your text will appear as a layer on top of your photo. Choose a font from the fonts list below the text box. Click through the list to see how different fonts will look.

Make adjustments in the text properties box on the right-hand side of the window to change the point size and opacity of the text.

Click the "Save and share" tab. Change the file's name if you don't want to save over the original on your desktop. Click "Save" to save your photo with the added text to your desktop.
