How to Connect My DirecTV Receiver to My Wireless

With the proper equipment, you can access features like DirecTV's On Demand, Media Share, DirecTV2PC and TV Apps. With Satellite TV you can view high-definition content anywhere the sky is clear enough to receive a satellite signal.

Things You'll Need

• Wireless adapter
• Ethernet cable

Instructions

Set Up Connection

1. Attach the end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the wireless adapter.

2. Attach the opposite end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the DirecTV Plus HD DVR receiver.

3. Plug the Ethernet-based wireless adapter into an electrical outlet.

Configure Devices

1. Follow the step-by-step instructions that appear on the TV screen once the router detects the adapter.

2. Select "Configure Now" when prompted.

3. Select your network name from the list that appears on the screen. If your network name is not on the list, add it.

4. Select "Continue."

5. Complete the setup of the wireless adapter by following the directions on the screen.

Verify Connection

1. Select the "Menu" option on your DirecTV remote.

2. Press the "Parental," "FAV's" and "Setup" options.

3. Press "Network" and "Connect Now."

4. Press "Continue" after connecting to DirecTV by means of the Internet.

5. Press "Done" to complete the setup.

Tips & Warnings

• Allow 24 hours for DirecTV CinemaPlus to update your electronic program guide and for program listings to fully populate the menus.

• A wireless device may not provide the best digital entertainment experience. DirecTV recommends wired options. If you choose to use wireless, follow the manufacturer's directions.

• Do not try the wireless option if you have Whole-Home DVR service. Instead, order the CINEMA Connection Kit with professional installation.
