How to Change the DC Electric Fan on a Magic Chef Wine Cooler
The fan on a wine cooler circulates the air inside the cabinet-like appliance so that the wine stays evenly cool throughout the enclosure. You can set the temperature to exactly match the optimum for the specific wine. If the fan becomes damaged or broken then the cooler won't operate effectively. Magic Chef provides a wide range of appliances including wine and beverage coolers, which come with a one-year warranty. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Unplug the cooler and slide it away from the wall. Locate the vent on the back of the cooler. Wipe any dust or dirt off the vent.
-
2
Locate the screws holding the vent cover in place. Remove the screws and the vent cover. Clean the inside of the vent cover with the cloth. If necessary rinse the cover in the sink to remove all the dirt. Set it aside to dry.

3
Locate the screws holding the fan in place. Remove and set them aside. Gently pull out the fan until you can see the wiring behind it. Locate the plastic connector between the fan and the cooler's electrical system. Some connectors will have one or more clips that must be pressed before unplugging. Examine the connector to look for any clips. Press them as you firmly pull the plugs apart and only grip the plastic, not the wiring.

4
Replace the fan with an identical model. Magic Chef does not provide replacement fans for coolers so you should take the fan to your local hardware store and match it with a replacement. Check to see that the plug interface is identical before buying a replacement fan.
-
5
Plug the fan into the cooler's wiring and plug the cooler into the wall outlet. Wait for the fan to come on. When it comes on, unplug to cooler from the outlet and wait for the fan to stop spinning.
-
6
Replace the screws to remount the fan. Replace the vent cover (once it is completely dry) and screw it in place again. Plug in the cooler and slide it in place, leaving at least 4 inches of clearance behind it for air circulation.
