How to Get Grease Out of a Baby's Hair
Although babies don't have a lot of hair, what they do have can still get dirty and develop buildup over time. If your baby has very fine hair, you may only need to wash his hair once a week. If your baby has longer, thicker hair you may notice grease building up sooner so you may need to wash her hair more frequently. Grease and oily residue can easily be removed from his hair using a mild baby shampoo. These shampoos are designed to clean dirt and oil from your baby's hair.

1
Fill the baby bath with warm water. Test the temperature by putting a droplet on your wrist. It should be warm, not hot.
-
2
Wrap your baby in the towel to keep her warm. You will be washing her hair separately from her body so it is important that she isn't cold during the process.
-
-
3
Hold your baby over the bath and tilt his head to prevent water from running into his eyes. Use your dominant hand to cradle your baby. Use your other hand to saturate the sponge in water then squeeze it gently over your baby's head to moisten the hair.
-
4
Squeeze a drop of shampoo into your hand then rub into the greasy hair. Lather up the shampoo to ensure you're getting a thorough clean.
-
5
Work the shampoo into any greasy areas. If your baby has a greasy product or oil in her hair, you may need to reapply more shampoo to the area. Massage the shampoo thoroughly into the grease to loosen and release it.
-
6
Rinse the hair by squeezing the soaked sponge over her head. Continue squeezing water over her head until the soap has been completely removed and the water runs clear from her head.
-
7
Pat your baby's hair dry with a clean towel.
