How to Cleanse Objects

You can cleanse your quartz with a few simple methods.

The process of cleansing objects or spaces is important to some people. Cleansing is a way to remove an object of any negative energy. For example, in Wiccan rituals, objects must be cleansed before performing a ceremony. Some people just want to cleanse an object that they wear every day. For instance, you may have a piece of jewelry, such as crystal, that you want to cleanse. There are several methods you can use for cleansing an object.

Instructions

1. Perform smudging with sage. Light the sage and blow the flame out. Allow the smoke to cover the object. According to All Things Yoni, "The smoke attaches itself to negative energy and as it clears it takes the negative energy with it, releasing it into another space to be regenerated."

2. Use fresh water. This method works if you live somewhere with a fresh water source, such as a creek or river. Place your object in the water and leave for two hours. The water cleanses and energizes your object.

3. Expose the object to the sun or moon. For instance, if you have a backyard, place the object in a spot to catch the rays from both the sun and the moon, if possible. Allow the object to remain for 24 hours to get the full cleansing benefits.

4. Place the object in the earth. You can place the object directly into clean soil or in a cloth covering first. The object should remain for 24 hours to get the full cleansing effect.

5. Use a sea salt cleanse. Place the object in a bowl or dish. Cover completely with sea salt. Do not add water. Sea salt absorbs the negative energies in the object. Leave object in the sea salt for 24 hours.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not place aquamarine and amethyst objects in the sun. Exposure to the sun can fade them.

• Do not place opals, leather or any fabric in salt or water. The salt or water can damage these items.
