How to Study for the Postal Battery Exam

The Postal Battery Exam is a test required for employees of the United States Postal Service, or USPS. The Postal Exam is required for seven different job positions within the Postal Services industry, including carriers, clerks and mail handlers. While the exam is not the only factor contributing to a job position, passing the exam is vital to getting the job.

1. Set aside study time. Plan for at least an hour or more of study time a day, whenever it is possible to study. The only way to pass any exam is spending time on studying. Exact times and the amount of study time necessary will depend on personal schedules and abilities.

2. Select a study guide. There are several study guides available for the postal exam, which range from books on collections of past tests to preparation guide books. Pick any preferred study book and read through the study materials.

3. Take practice tests. Many of the study materials will have a practice test or practice quizzes available. Take these tests first. Go to 4 Tests and take the 76-question practice test on the website. Go to PSE-Net and take the postal exam practice test on the website.

4. Read the study guide through a second time and repeat the practice tests. The more practice and study time expended, the higher the chances of passing the exam. Reading through the materials twice ensures the information is understood and nothing is missed.
