A pair of jacks or better is needed to have a winning hand in video poker.

Video poker is a video card game that can be found in most casinos. Players are awarded payouts for predetermined winning hands from a preset pay table. "Double double bonus" video poker plays exactly the same as most other video poker machines, but the pay table is altered so that two pair pays only one-to-one on the bet. Four-of-a-kind payouts, however, are boosted significantly.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Deal" button. The game will randomly deal you five playing cards, face up, from a deck of 52 that is reshuffled for every hand.

    • 2

Observe your cards and decide which ones you want to keep and which you want to discard. You will need a pair of jacks or better to have a winning hand.

    • 3

Press "Hold" for each card that you want to keep. Some machines allow you to touch each card individually to hold them, while others have a button labeled "Hold" underneath each card.

    • 4

Press "Deal" again to discard the cards you did not hold and receive new ones in their place.

    • 5

Observe your new hand and determine whether it is a winning hand or not. Most machines will automatically do this for you and award any payouts accordingly. Winning hands for a double double bonus machine are, from lowest to highest, a pair of jacks or better, two pair, three-of-a-kind, straight, flush, full house, four-of-a-kind, straight flush and royal flush.

    • 6

Press "Deal" again to repeat your previous bet. Repeat Steps 2-5 as desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • Double double bonus video poker's pay table is different from normal video poker in that the rewards for four-of-a-kind are greatly increased, so always hold on to pairs or three-of-a-kinds.
