How to Find the Serial Number on a Honda ATV

Honda all-terrain vehicles are a popular recreational vehicle. When your ATV is in need of service or parts, or you want specific manufacturing information, you must have the vehicle identification number. The VIN number is unique to your ATV and provides specific information about the engine, options and manufacturing details. It's advisable to record the ATV's VIN number for future reference.

Things You'll Need

  • Service ramps
  • Wheel chocks or blocks
  • Damp cloth
  • Stiff-bristled brush
  • Drive your ATV up onto service ramps. Engage the parking brake and place wheel chocks or blocks behind the rear tires.

  • Locate the VIN plate attached to the vehicle's frame beside the front coil spring on either side.

  • Clean the plate with a damp cloth or stiff-bristled brush to expose the 17 digits of the VIN number.
