How Can I Get a Birth Certificate If I Was Born in Rhode Island?
A birth certificate is a legal document that is used to establish identity. There are many different occasions where you may need to produce a birth certificate to prove your identity, such as getting a Social Security card, driver's license or a passport. Children need their birth certificates to enroll in school. If you were born in Rhode Island and need a copy of your birth certificate, you can obtain one for a fee. As of May 2010, the cost is $20 for the first copy, and $15 for each additional copy that is requested on the same application.
