How to Remove a Radio From an Isuzu NPR Box Van

Remove the radio from your box van.

An Isuzu NPR box van is a truck with a box-shaped cargo area. You can save a lot of money on labor if you remove the radio from your Isuzu NPR box van yourself. You only need two simple tools that you may already have on hand to complete this task. You may need to remove the radio in order to replace it with an upgraded one. This job should take you no longer than an hour to complete.

Things You'll Need

• Adjustable wrench
• Phillips-head screwdriver
• Flathead screwdriver

Instructions

1. Pop the hood and remove the negative battery cable using an adjustable wrench to loosen the retaining nut on top.

2. Remove the ashtray from the dash and then remove the screw inside with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

3. Pry up the trim panel around the radio and A/C controls using a flathead screwdriver. Pull the panel forward with the wiring still attached and rest it on the floor of the van.

4. Unscrew two screws from the radio bracket with a Phillips screwdriver and pull the radio out. Unplug the wiring behind the radio.
