Can I Undelete My System When I Deleted My Partition?
If you just deleted the partition on your hard drive and suddenly realized there was something on there you forgot to back up or changed your mind, there is some hope. You may not be able to fully recover and get back to where you were but there's a good chance you salvage many or all of your files. How far you can go back depends mainly on what you have done after deleting your partition.

1
Undelete your deleted partition. If you are using a partition program such as Partition Magic, you may be able to select the drive and click the option to undelete if it has not been completed. You may even be able to undo the task if the partition that was deleted was not your main partition.

2
Remove your hard drive. You'll need to put the hard drive in another computer so that you can access its contents without overwriting on the data marked for deletion. Open the computer case, unscrew the hard drive and pull out the hard drive cables.

3
Find another computer. Connect the hard drive to an open cable or replace the DVD drive with the hard drive you want to recover. Start this computer and let Windows find the drive. The drive should appear as another letter in Windows Explorer.

4
Install recovery software. You can find a variety of programs that will recover deleted files. Install this on the computer where you attached the drive. Start the software and choose the attached drive as the one to search for files. If the program doesn't see the hard drive, you may have to add a partition to it and format it first. This may seem counterintuitive, but the files will only be marked for deletion and the recovery program can then find the files.

5
Select all of the recovered files and copy them to the hard drive that is original to the computer you are using. When all the files are recovered, you can select and copy them back to the deleted drive. Shut down the computer and disconnect the problem hard drive and reconnect everything back to the way it was.
