Hazy film most often occurs on ceramic tile either after applying grout to the tile, or after using a cleaning product and not thoroughly rinsing the residue. When dealing with haze on tiles after grouting, you simply need a damp sponge and a soft cloth. When you are dealing with cleaning supply residue on ceramic tile, try making a haze-removing solution of vinegar, ammonia and baking soda. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

  1. Haze from Grouting

    • 1

      Wipe the freshly grouted tile with a damp sponge. Move in a diagonal motion to avoid removing grout from the seams.

      Air-dry the tiles until a hazy, white film appears.

      Wipe the tiles gently with a soft cloth until you have removed the hazy film.

    Haze from Cleaning Products

      Fill the bucket with warm water. Add 1 cup vinegar, 1 cup ammonia and ½ cup baking soda.

      Dampen a sponge in the vinegar solution, and clean the tiles with the sponge.

      Rinse well, and dry with a towel. Inspect the tile for any trace of the haze. If the haze remains, rewash with the vinegar solution and rinse well.
