Where's the best place to stash your lipstick, compact, tissue and a mint on your big day? In your stylish handbag of course!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bridal Bags
  • Purse Mirrors
  1. Step 1

Think lightweight, delicate and small. You'll need to carry relatively few items.

  2. Step 2

Consider the color of your dress. Match white or pale pearl to a white dress, pearl or ivory to an off-white dress.

  3. Step 3

Consider the fabrication of your dress. Match silk or satin to a silk dress, and choose velvet or lace trim if you have either in your train or veil.

  4. Step 4

Match the handbag's ornamentation to that of your dress or jewelry: rhinestones to diamonds, beads to pearls, silver accents to silver or platinum jewelry, gold accents to gold jewelry.

  5. Step 5

Model potential handbags while wearing your dress, and choose one that complements the overall look you're trying to achieve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose strap lengths wisely. If you're not partial to clutches, consider a small-handled mini-bag. If you're partial to straps, select a length that lets the bag fall against your body comfortably.
  • Buy a bag that's perfect as-is. With so many things to think about before your big day, you won't want to worry about getting your wedding bag cleaned or having the handle length altered.

on 10/20/2006 Sometimes it's very difficult to match your dress with a solid silk bag, as bridal gown shades vary so much. A good alternative is a beaded bag with colors of your gown in it. Such as shades of ivory, beige, silver and gold. Beaded bags are easy to clean and you will be able to use it again with neutral color outfits.
