How to Make My Eyes Less Puffy After Crying

After crying, your eyes may appear puffy and swollen. There are several methods to reduce the swelling using ingredients you probably already have in your refrigerator. After a 15-minute application, you should be able to complete your grooming routine and go.

Things You'll Need

  • Cold cucumber
  • Knife
  • 4 spoons
  • Washcloth
  • Cold raw potato
  • Tea pot
  • Tea bags
  • Cut two slices of a cold cucumber. Sit in a comfortable chair with your head up. Allow the liquids under your eyes to drain away from the area as you place the cucumbers over your eyes. Relax for 15 minutes and then remove.

  • Place four spoons under running water and then into the freezer. Allow them to ice. Sit down into a chair and place the back of the spoon over your eyes. Allow the cold to penetrate the eye area and contract the blood vessels. Replace the spoons once they become warm. Remove the second set of spoons and begin your makeup.

  • Run a washcloth under cold water then put it into the freezer. Place it over your eye area and sit quietly for 10 minutes to allow it to cool the area. Remove the cold compress once it becomes warm.

  • Cut two slices of a cold raw potato and put them over your eyes. Relax in a chair as the cold starch reduces the inflammation in the eye area. Remove the potatoes after 10 minutes.

  • Make a pot of tea using two tea bags in the pot. Pour yourself a cup to settle your nerves. Remove the two tea bags and place them in the refrigerator. Allow them to cool for about 10 minutes as you drink your tea. Apply them to your eye area. Remove them after 10 minutes have passed.
