Tutorials for How to Color Pictures in Deleter CG Illustrator
Deleter creates products often used by manga artists in Japan and all around the world. The Deleter CG Illustrator, CGillust, is a graphic software program for artists to paint and draw using their computer. If you have scanned in a picture or downloaded a digital image that you want to change, you can use the program to paint and color over any existing drawing, photo or picture on your computer.

Click "File" and choose "Open" from the menu.

Choose "All Images" from the "Files of type" drop-down menu. The default is set to find only .oci files, which will not automatically show you the standard .jpg or .png files.

Browse your computer for the picture file you want to color, then double-click it to load it into the program.

Select a coloring tool from the toolbox on the left side of the screen. The program offers tools such as "Pencil," "Water Color," "Airbrush" and "Fill."

Customize your tool in the menu on the right side of the screen by choosing the shape, size and hardness. You can make a custom setting or choose between preset brushes.

Select a color from the color palette on the right side of the screen.

Click the "New" button in the bottom right corner of the "Layers" box to create a new layer on top of the current picture. This allows you to color on a floating layer without changing the layers underneath. You can create as many layers as you need.

Change the layer setting to "Multiply" in the drop-down menu if you are coloring over pencil or pen linework. This allows you to paint on the layer while showing the drawing lines underneath.

Paint on your picture by clicking and dragging your mouse across the image file. You may wish to use a variation of brushes, layers and colors as you color your picture.

Click the "Layer" menu from the top task bar and choose "Merge Down" once you have finished painting on the layer. This will merge all the layers into one on the canvas.

Save the colored image to your computer once it is complete.
