How to Keep up to Date on an Evaluation Certificate
Evaluation certificates are documents that are given to professionals as proof that they have reached a certain level of mastery or skill in their fields. Often this is a necessity of these professionals keeping their various jobs. Though you may earn an evaluation certificate once, you will have to be evaluated again and again to keep up to date on the certificate. Whether through continuing education or continuing employment, though, the requirements for increasing your knowledge will vary depending on certificate and program.

1
Examine your evaluation certificate. It should have come with paperwork that states how long the certificate is good, when it will need to be renewed, and what those renewal qualifications are. Some certificates, such as teaching certificates, require you to have a certain number of continuing-education hours in order to renew. Others may require you to take a new exam.

2
Renew your certification on time to keep it valid. Evaluation certificates are typically renewed annually, though some professional certificates may be renewed every three or five years, if that's the law. Additionally, some certificates allow you to renew early, though you still have to pay all fees and take all tests, just as you would if you took it on time.

3
Keep up on changing professional standards and tests. The examinations for evaluation certificates may change, and the requirements for renewal may go up or down, depending on what's deemed necessary. If you're a member of a professional organization, like a union, then these changes should be brought to your attention when they happen so that you can properly adjust your re-certification knowledge and criteria.
