How to Make a Brown Bag With Brown Kraft Paper

Brown paper bags are handy for holding your lunch and more.

Kraft paper is created from chemical pulp via the kraft process. Arts and crafts projects with your children or for your own entertainment can be an amusing pastime, especially when the end result is a useful product. Creating a brown paper bag out of brown kraft paper allows your children to help in the construction of their school lunches, teaching them to be innovative and involved.

Things You'll Need

• Scissors
• Pencil
• Tape

Instructions

1. Lay the brown kraft paper down on your kitchen table.

2. Trace a square on the paper corresponding to the size you wish the bottom (floor) of your bag to be.

3. Trace a second square around the first, corresponding to the height you wish the sides of your bag to be. The height of the bag will be the distance between the two squares.

4. Cut around the outside square on all four sides, giving you a perfect square of kraft paper. From there, cut smaller, equal-sized squares from each corner (cutting from the outside of the larger square to the inside of the smaller at each corner) until you have formed the remaining paper into a "+" shape (like the Red Cross symbol).

5. Fold the flaps of the "+" inward and tape them together, forming a bag.
