Make Flubber Without Glue

Flubber -- a gel-like slime -- is fun for kids of all ages. Made popular by the 1961 movie, "The Absent-Minded Professor," and its 1997 remake, "Flubber," this substance can be bought at a number of different toy stores and party shops. But instead of spending money on the buying it pre-made, you can have your kids make it themselves at home.

Instructions

    • 1

Pour 1/2 cup flour and 1/2 cup corn starch into a medium-sized bowl.

    • 2

Add water to the corn starch and flour -- 1 tbsp. at a time -- until the substance is of the same consistency as glue.

    • 3

Pour 3/4 cup of warm water into the mix.

    • 4

Add a few drops of food coloring -- any color -- to turn your mixture to the color of your choice. Stir the very well with a spoon.

    • 5

Pour 2 tsp. of Borax into a separate bowl, and add 1/2 cup of warm water to the Borax. Stir this mixture thoroughly.

    • 6

Pour the "glue" mixture into your Borax mixture to turn the two mixtures into flubber. Knead the substance with your hands for 1 to 2 minutes until the flubber is combined and set.
