How to Cover a Composition Book

How to Cover a Composition Book thumbnail
You can reuse gift wrap to cover your composition book.

Covering a composition book is as simple as covering any other book. And it's smart too. Covering your books makes them last longer and allows you to give them a personal touch. You can cover composition books with old brown grocery bags or even leftover wrapping paper. Maybe you saved the wrapping paper from your favorite birthday or Christmas gift. Reusing it to cover your composition book is both creative and good for the environment.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure your paper. The paper needs to be at least two inches bigger than the open book on all sides. After you cut the paper place it face down on your work table and place the open book on it. Mark the edges of the book.

    • 2

Fold the top and bottom edges of the paper to where you marked the top and bottom edges of the book.

    • 3

Fold the sides of the paper to the line where you marked the front and back covers of the book.

    • 4

Slip the front and back covers into the folds you just made. The book should fit snugly into the cover.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can decorate your cover with stickers, buttons and glitter. Or, you can simply write your name and class information on the cover.
