How to Use Jojoba Oil on Your Face
Native to the American Southwest, American Indians and Mexicans have used Jojoba oil for centuries as a conditioning ingredient for cosmetic treatments and hair conditioning. Jojoba seeds contain unique oils that mimic the chemical composition of human skin oil, also known as sebum. Applying jojoba oil directly to your face before bedtime moisturizes the skin and won't evaporate like water-based moisturizers. Moisturized and balanced skin may produce less sebum and soothe irritation. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Open your pores by washing your face with warm water and a gentle cleanser. Rinse the cleanser with warm water and gently pat your face dry with a clean towel. Avoid rubbing your face with the towel which can aggravate your skin. Open pores will absorb the jojoba oil more quickly, minimizing the greasy feeling.

2
Put on your headband to keep your hairline from becoming greasy. Squeeze two to six drops of pure jojoba oil onto the pads of your fingers using your bottle dropper. Determine the number of drops based on the dryness and irritation of your skin. Jojoba is hypoallergenic, but using more than 10 drops at a time can leave your face shiny.

Rub the pads of your fingers together gently. Begin massaging the oil into your face with your fingers using firm circular motions. Apply more pressure over particularly dry or bothered spots. Continue massaging for at least one minute to allow your pores to absorb the jojoba oil.

Remove any pools of excess oil by blotting with a facial tissue. Blot gently, but expect your face to feel slightly oily for a few hours afterward while your skin continues absorbing the oil.
