How to Join the Army Air Corps
The Army Air Corps was the precursor to the modern Air Force, an early group of pilots who were among the first to bring war to the skies. The Air Corps was founded in 1926, and its initial purpose was to provide support for troops on the ground. The Corps struggled to grow and expand during the interwar years but was stymied by a lack of funding brought on by the Great Depression. It remained throughout World War II but was formally disbanded in 1947. However, historical reenactment groups keep the Air Corps alive with active groups of Air Corps enthusiasts.
