Instructions

    • 1

Use a wire brush to remove dirt or minerals from the clay pot. Wash the pot with soapy water. Rinse it in clean water and let it dry.

    • 2

Decorate the pot with a pattern or a color of your choice.

    • 3

Mix standard plant soil with sand. Mix one unit of sand with nine units of flower plant soil for proper drainage.

    • 4

Fill the pot with the plant soil mixture. Leave two inches space from the rim.

    • 5

Form a hole in the middle of the soil with your hand. Make a large enough hole to be able to fit the geranium plant into it.

    • 6

Place the geranium into the hole and arrange the soil around it to support the plant. Remove or add extra soil if necessary.

    • 7

Place drip tray under the clay pot to protect the surface of the table on which you want to place the clay pot.

    • 8

Water the soil after you have finished planting. Once the pot is heavier than it was before you started watering, the soil has absorbed enough water.

Tips & Warnings

  • In clay pots the soil dries out quickly. Check the moisture of the soil every day with your finger. Before winter, relocate the pot into a frost-free place.
