How to Align the Taskbar

The Windows taskbar is your starting point for nearly every function on the operating system. You can customize this important facet of Windows in different ways. For instance, you can realign the taskbar by positioning it on different sides of the screen. This can create a pleasing aesthetic difference and improve the interface to better suit your preferences.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click an unused portion of the taskbar.

    • 2

Click "Lock the taskbar" to remove the check mark. If there is no check mark next to the option, do not click it. Unlocking the taskbar allows you to align it as you see fit.

    • 3

Left-click and drag an unused area of the taskbar to the location you wish to realign it. The taskbar will move to the side where you drag it.

    • 4

Release the left-click to finish alignment.
