How to Broadcast on a Two-Wire Intercom
Two-wire intercoms are frequently intercom systems that utilize "mono" audio input. These systems are normally used to transmit a message into many different rooms simultaneously. Intercom systems consist of speakers for sound output; an amplifier that gives power to the speakers; a console board that controls the levels at which that the audio enters the system; and a microphone that receives the audio. Mono intercom systems can be repaired or retrofitted if there are two input wires available.
Instructions

1
Strip your two wires. Remove about 1/2 inch of rubber protective coating from the wires.
-
2
Look behind your audio amplifier for an "Audio Output" section. This will have contacts for wires to either be screwed or clamped to.
-
-
3
Screw or clamp your two wires to the "Left" output. There will be a red contact and a black contact. Connect the white-striped wire to the red contact and the unmarked wire to the black contact.

Plug your RCA cables into the "Audio Input" section on the amplifier. There should be a few, each marked as a different input. You will see "Tape In," "CD In" and "Aux In." Plug your two wires into the "Aux" input matching the red-and-white jack to the red-and-white RCA cable.

5
Look to the top right of your console board and notice two RCA outputs labeled "Tape Out." Plug the other end of your RCA cable into these matching the red-and-white colored plugs with the red-and-white colored inputs.

Plug the male end of your XLR cable into the female XLR input on your board.
-
7
Plug the female end of your XLR cable into your microphone.
