How to Hide the Music Player But Keep the Pause Button
When you open a music program on your computer, certain controls are available to you as you play a song. This includes the "Play" button, the "Pause" button and other controls. Because of a feature that is unique to the Windows 7 operating system, you can now hide a music player window but still keep the controls at the ready.

1
Open a music program, like Windows Media Player or iTunes. Both of these programs, when installed on your computer (Windows Media Player is a native program, but iTunes must be downloaded from iTunes' website) will be in your "All Programs" menu.

2
Click the "Minimize" button the music player program window. In all Windows programs, the "Minimize" button is in the upper-right corner of the window. This will minimize the main program window of the music player, hiding it to your task bar.

Hover your mouse over the icon for your music program in the task bar. The program window will stay hidden, but the controls for that program will appear above your mouse cursor. You can still use the "Play," "Pause," "Next" and "Previous" buttons even though the window is hidden.
