How to Become a College Team Chaplain
Sport team chaplains provide personal and spiritual support to the players of an athletic team. At the college level, players are faced with sport-specific stress. A team chaplain can be of any religious denomination, but must be a good fit for the religious beliefs and denominations of the team she wishes to serve. The requirements for becoming a college team chaplain will depend on the college and the players of that team.

Create a resume with relevant experience. Include involvement in your church or community groups, chaplaincy with sports teams at the high school or other levels and affiliation with the sport team you wish to help guide as a chaplain.
-
2
Contact the leader of the athletic program at the college where you wish to work. Ask for requirements as team chaplain. There is no degree for this position. Often you will have to volunteer for a specific time-frame before becoming paid.

Gain certification from an accredited organization, such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. While certification is not required, it may help you stand out as a team chaplain at the college level.
