How to Replace a Bobbin Case for a Singer XL-1000
Singer, founded in New York by Issac Merrit Singer, has been continually providing state-of-the-art sewing machines to the world since 1851.Singer became the leader of manufacturing practical sewing machines in the United States within two years of the doors opening and, soon after, the largest in the world. Singer has continually made innovations in the world of sewing and has even expanded their line of products to include vacuum cleaners, electric test equipment and office machinery.

Disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet. Turn the hand wheel on the right side of the sewing machine until the needle has reached it's highest point. Locate the presser foot lever on the left side of the Singer XL-1000 and raise the presser foot.

Remove the metal needle plate from beneath the raised presser foot by releasing the latch on the needle plate. Grab the latch on the center of the bobbin case and carefully push the clips on either side of the case while cautiously sliding the bobbin case up and out.

Examine the area where the bobbin case was previously located to verify that there are no remnants of thread left behind that could cause mechanical problems by getting entangled in any of the mechanisms.

Take the replacement bobbin case and, while pressing the clips on either side of the bracket that holds the bobbin case, carefully slide the replacement bobbin case down and forward. The bobbin case is designed to fit snugly into the space allotted.
