Capcom released "Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening" for the PlayStation 2 in 2005, and in 2006 the company released a PC version as well; both received good reviews. "Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening" is in the "beat 'em up" category of games, where you engage high volumes of enemies, primarily in melee combat. In "Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening," you control Dante as he fights otherworldly beings. In only a few moments you can set up your Xbox 360 controller and join Dante fighting demons.

Instructions

  1. Controller Software

    • 1

Download the latest software for the Xbox 360 controller from Microsoft (see Resources).

    • 2

Double-click the downloaded files to install the software. Be sure you download the correct software for either a wireless or wired controller.

    • 3

      Reset your computer.

    Controller Setup

    • 4

Plug in either the controller or the controller's wireless receiver into a free USB port on your computer.

    • 5

Pair the receiver to the controller. (If you have a wired controller, skip this step.) Press the large green "Guide" button on the controller. Press the "Connect" button on the receiver, and press the "Connect" button on the controller itself. The controller's "Connect" button is on the front of the controller, just to the right of the "Microsoft" logo.

    • 6

Start playing "Devil May Cry 3" by double-clicking on the DVD drive or on the desktop icon for the game. The game automatically allows you to use either the keyboard or your Xbox 360 controller to play.

Tips & Warnings

  • Exiting "Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening" is different than with most other games. You must press and hole the "Alt" key and then press "F4." The game will ask you if you want to exit, and if you choose "Yes," it will close.
