How to Make Fake Roses

Make fake roses for a delicate decorative touch.

Use fake roses to add a touch of elegance to any decorative theme. Real roses are nice but they can wilt before the event if you purchase them too early. An alternative to real roses are fake roses made out of crepe paper. Fake roses are less expensive and they make for a beautiful keepsake.

Things You'll Need

• Crepe paper
• Pipe cleaner
• Scissors

Instructions

1. Lay your crepe paper out and cut it into 15-inch long strips each about 2 inches wide. Hold one end of the crepe paper strip by its lower bottom corner.

2. Fold and gather one inch at a time of the strip of crepe paper into one hand. Continue to hold the center section of the paper strip. Keep gathering the paper until the entire length of the strip is gathered into your hand by its lower center.

3. Hold one end of the pipe cleaner to the lower gathered section of the paper and twist the pipe cleaner around it two times. The pipe cleaner secures the paper in place. Fan out and adjust the loose section of the paper to create the look of a rose.
