How to Cure Backne
Backne, the common term used to describe acne on the back, is common in teenagers and adults. It can also be found on the chest and buttocks. The causes for backne include diet, stress, sweating and tight-fighting clothing. Treating backne is difficult because the skin in these areas is much thicker than other parts of the body. Backne, however, can be treated and cured by exfoliation, maintaining clean and dry skin and the use of topical and oral medication. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Maintain clean linens and clothing because bacteria can cause the symptoms of backne to worsen. Bras, shirts, pillowcases and sheets should be washed two to three times per week. Also, put a clean towel down before using exercise machines or mats at workout facilities.
-
2
Shower as soon as possible after sweating to wash away dirt and bacteria from your back. Wash the affected area daily with a salicylic acid-based cleanser or benzoyl peroxide wash.

3
Exfoliate the skin two to three times per week. Combine three parts baking soda to one part water to form an exfoliant paste, and wash the affected area in a gentle circular motion. This will remove dead skin cells and reduce the blockage of pores that cause backne.

4
Apply medicated cream or gel to the affected area. Treat mild to moderate backne with over-the-counter products containing benzoyl peroxide. Topical antibiotics such as clindamycin, erythromycin, stiemycin and tetracycline can be applied directly to the affected area.

5
Consult a dermatologist. If you have a severe case of backne, your dermatologist might prescribe oral antibiotics, topical prescription Retin-A cream or Accutane.
