You can create your own floral swag using fresh flowers.

When you are decorating your house, you can add a touch of beauty and elegance by placing fresh flowers in different locations. Instead of buying fresh floral arrangements, like fresh flower swags, you can make your own using basic materials. You can often collect many of the needed materials, like flowers and branches, in your yard or garden. Everything else you need can be purchased at a craft supply store. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 6 branches, 18 inches long each
  • Fresh flowers with leaves and stems
  • Florist wire
  • Hot glue gun
  • Hot glue stick

Instructions

    • 1

      Place six branches together in a bunch. Slide the bunch apart slightly, allowing three branches to hang toward the right and three to the left.

      Tie the middle of the branches together using 18 inches of florist wire.

    • 3

      Lay fresh flowers against the branches by their stems, allowing them to face both right and left.

    • 4

      Wrap the wire around the middle of the form again.

    • 5

      Twist the end of the wire into a loop at the top of the form.

    • 6

      Hot glue individual blooms over the swag, allowing the hot glue to harden completely before hanging up the flower swag.
