How to Connect an iPod to a Smart Board

SMARTBoards have essentially replaced traditional chalkboards in many classrooms. This whiteboard allows users to connect the board to a desktop or laptop computer and run presentations similar to a projector. Once the board is connected to a computer, users can connect any other device to the computer and show the material on the SMARTBoard. This becomes useful when presenters have data or media stored on a device such as an iPod.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the SMARTBoard to the computer using the included USB cable.

    • 2

Connect the iPod to the computer using the USB cable.

    • 3

Open iTunes from the "All Programs" portion of the Start menu. If iTunes is not available, go to the iTunes website for a free download of the program.

    • 4

Click the "iPod" tab located on the left side menu of iTunes. This will open a menu of all the files located on the iPod.

    • 5

Double Click the desired file on the iPod to open it. The desired file now appears on the SMARTBoard.
