How to Remove a Site From the Address History

Sometimes you need to cover your tracks on the Internet, whether you are keeping a secret or trying to save something as a surprise. If you need to do this, you can view your Internet history within your browser and remove specific sites from the list of addresses. Each Internet browser has its own method of deleting the websites from the history.

Instructions

  1. Internet Explorer

      Click "Tools" at the top of the Internet Explorer window.

      Hover over "Explorer Bars" and click "History."

      Select the date that you viewed the site you want to remove.

      Right-click on the website or the website's folder and click "Delete."

    Google Chrome

      Click the "Tools" icon at the top right of the window and click "History" in the list.

      Click "Edit Items" at the top of the page.

      Click the boxes next to each site that you want to delete.

      Click the "Remove selected items" button to delete the pages.

    Firefox

      Click the "View" button at the top toolbar.

      Click "Sidebar" and then click "History." The "History" pane appears on the left side of the window.

      Expand the month or day that contains the sites that you want to remove.

      Right-click on the site folder or the specific site within the folder and click "Delete."
