How to Crochet a Triangle Shawl Using a S-35 Hook
Shawls and wraps are stylish fashion accessories that you can make quickly and easily. Using a super bulky yarn and an extra large crochet hook, both easily found at local craft stores or online, you can create a beautiful triangle shawl in just a few hours. Make several in different colors to coordinate with all outfits or to give as gifts.

Select your yarn. Be certain that you have 500 yards of a super bulky, or 6 weight, yarn. If you need more than one skein, check that the dye lots match for color continuity.

Choose your crochet hook. Be sure you have the extra large speed hook, or size S-35 crochet hook.

Chain 4 to create a foundation.

Single crochet in each chain across, beginning with the second chain, creating three single crochet stitches. This is Row 1.

Complete Row 2 by chaining 1, then turn your piece and stitch 2 single crochets in the first single crochet. Single crochet to the last single crochet and place two single crochet in the last single crochet. This will leave you with 5 single crochet.

Repeat Row 2, ending with a row that has 7 single crochet.

Repeat Row 2, ending with a row that has 9 single crochet.

Continue working by repeating row 2 until you have 105 single crochet. Each row, if done properly, will increase by 2 single crochet.

Edge the piece by working 2 single crochet at the end of each row, along one side edge.

Single crochet in the first foundation chain, place 3 single crochet in the second foundation chain and a single crochet in the last foundation chain.

Finish edging by placing 2 single crochet at the end of each row, working along the other side edge of the piece.

Fasten off your stitches.

Cut your yarn, leaving a 5-inch tail.

Thread your yarn needle and weave in the tail, hiding it within the stitches.

Use two strands of worsted weight yarn held together and worked as one strand for a different look.
