How to Date a Guy in the Army

How to Date a Guy in the Army thumbnail
The Army lifestyle has benefits, but if you choose to date someone in the Army, there will be some challenges to overcome.

There's something about a man in uniform -- he has something no other man has. It's the appeal of disciplined machismo, his deportment and the manner in which he carries himself. But if you dream about dating a guy in the Army, you have to face certain truths. One, he won't always be around; and two, it is very likely that many women will flirt with him for the same reasons you would.

Instructions

    • 1

Eliminate all other dating relationships you may have. It's too complicated to try to date more than one guy, especially if one is a military man.

    • 2

Prepare to accept some form of regimentation, like being on time and sticking to tight schedules. Also, this may be a good time for you to get on task with organization and keeping things neat and clean.

    • 3

Cease being controlling if you have this habit in your relationships. Keep in mind that Army guys like to take charge, but at the same time many work hard to please the women they are interested in. Don't try to control the situation or demand too much. Military men are under constant pressure and will not appreciate controlling women.

    • 4

Practice flexibility and become accustomed to lonely days and nights. Remember that Army men can be called to duty at any time. If you cannot accept this, you might not be cut out for dating a military man.

    • 5

Respect him and what he believes in. Never be negative about his rank, work or even his superiors.

    • 6

Respect his privacy. It's part of his job not to be vocal about his work. This is known as practicing operations security, or OPSEC. There may be some confidential aspects that he will never be able to share with you. Grumbling about what he cannot share with you will only turn him off.
