Roses are lovely in a bridal bouquet.

Planning weddings involves choosing the perfect bridal gown, flowers and decorations. The bridal bouquet is a significant showpiece of the wedding. A classic style for brides is a round rose bridal bouquet. Instead of going the pricey route of hiring a florist to create the bridal bouquet, make it instead. It is a budget-friendly solution and allows you to customize the bouquet according to the bride's request.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut the stems of the roses with a sharp knife. They must all be the same length, such as 7 or 8 inches.

    • 2

Choose one rose to be the center of the bouquet. Add flowers around that center flower, going first around the center flower and then adding more roses around those flowers. This creates the round shape. To see it more clearly, stand in front of a mirror as you add the flowers. This will ensure that the shape is indeed round.

    • 3

Bind the stems using floral tape. For extra reinforcement, use rubber bands as well. Secure the roses at midstem level.

    • 4

Place the bridal bouquet in a vase of water. It is ideal to make the bouquet the morning of the wedding so that it looks as fresh as possible. Keep it in the vase until it is time for the wedding.

    • 5

Tie ribbon over the floral tape or rubber bands. Choose white ribbon, or incorporate one of the colors from the wedding. Tie it in a knot. Use a hot glue gun to apply glue to it and keep it in place.

    • 6

Wrap tulle around the stems. Sheer white tulle looks lovely over the ribbon. Tie the tulle in a bow. Use the hot glue gun to keep the tulle in place.

Tips & Warnings

  • Order 15 percent more roses than you think you will need in case some of them do not hold up well.
