How to Print CD Jackets
Making your own CD jacket can be a way of personalizing a mix CD you have made. Whether the CD contains images, videos or music, making your own jacket is an inexpensive way of finishing it. If you are giving the CD as a gift, you can customize it for the recipient. Alternatively, if you have little space for storage, a CD jacket takes up less room than a case and is cheaper.

1
Use Microsoft Word to design your cover artwork and any text you want to include. Ensure that the design is centered on the top half of the page.
-
2
Print the design, using standard paper. You could use heavier paper, which would be sturdier, although might not work with your printer. Check your printer's manual for a guide on what paper you can print, and how to adjust the settings, which vary from printer to printer.

Using a ruler, measure a 5-by-5-inch square which includes your artwork and text. This will be the front of the CD jacket. Draw another 5-by-5-inch square below. This will be the back of the CD jacket. Draw two strips on the sides of the square with the artwork on it. These should be 1 inch wide and 5 inches high.
-
4
Cut out the shape you drew, leaving the "wings" attached to the front square. Fold along the lines. This is how you attach the front of the jacket to the back.
-
5
Glue the wings and fold them so that the glue side attaches to the back cover. Place a book on the jacket and allow it to dry for a couple of hours. Remove the book, and place the CD into the jacket.
