DIY Laptop Flex Stand
A flex stand can come in handy if you want to slightly elevate your laptop computer. This will allow for extra ventilation and prevent your laptop from overheating. An elevated keyboard can also relieve strain on your wrists while typing. You can construct a stand quickly using common items, such as PVC pipe.
Things You'll Need
- 2 six-inch lengths of PVC pipe
- 6 PVC elbows
- 3 14-inch lengths of PVC pipe
Instructions
-
-
1
Insert one end of a 14-inch length of PVC pipe into one opening in an elbow.
-
2
Attach the other end to of the 14-inch pipe to an elbow.
-
-
3
Connect one of the 6-inch lengths of pipe into the remaining opening on one of the elbows. Connect the other 6-inch length of pipe to the other elbow.
-
4
Connect an elbow to the end of both 6-inch pieces of pipe. Make sure the remaining ends of the elbows are facing up.
-
5
Connect a 14-inch length of pipe to one of the elbows. Connect the last 14-inch piece of pipe to the other elbow.
-
6
Attach the remaining two elbows to the ends of the 14-inch lengths. These will act as stoppers for the laptop.
-
7
Place the structure on a desk or workstation so that it forms a pyramid shape, with the single 14-inch pipe forming the base of the structure (see resources).
-
8
Place your laptop over the two remaining 14-inch lengths of pipe. The laptop will now be elevated and supported.
