Instructions

    • 1

Create the pattern for the cat ears. Fold a piece of paper in half and draw a triangle on it the size and shape you would like each ear to be. Cut out the pattern, unfold it, and pin it to the black felt. Cut out two identical pieces of felt using the pattern.

    • 2

Fold the two ears around the top of the headband, spacing them several inches apart. Hot glue the middle of each diamond to the underside of the headband, and press firmly to seal them on. Apply hot glue to the insides of the ear, line up the edges, and press firmly to seal them. Repeat with the other ear. Alternatively, you can choose to sew the ears instead of gluing them together.

    • 3

Create the tail of the cat. Cut a strip of felt as long as you want the tail to be, and twice as wide as you'd like it. Cut the end of the tail into a rounded point. Fold the strip in half. Beginning at the pointed end, sew the outer edges of the tail together to make a long tube. Sew until you have only a few inches left at the top of the tail. Then flip it inside out. Fill the tail with cotton stuffing. Continue to sew the tail, stitching it off at the top to close it. Pin a safety pin through the top of the tail to easily attach it to your shirt, leotard or dress.

Pair the ears and tail with a black leotard or mini-dress. Wear with black tights or fishnets and black heels.

    • 5

Draw whiskers onto your cheeks with black eyeliner. Draw exaggerated "cat eyes" with the black eyeliner, curving the ends of the line up at the outer edges of your eyes.
