How to Make Bath Salts Easily
Bath salts may seem like a luxurious indulgence requiring significant amounts of money and time to buy or prepare. The reality, however, is that you can make your own bath salts easily and with fairly little expense. While the bath salts may take up a significant amount of time, nearly all of it will be spent soaking in your nutrient-rich, scented bath rather than preparing the salts themselves. Making your own bath salts gives you complete control over the final color and scent. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Pour the salt into a glass mixing bowl. Epsom salt and sea salt are common choices, but you can use other options such as pink salt or Dead Sea salt if you prefer. Some salts are naturally very colorful, so only use this if their color works well with your desired final product. For example, do not use pink salt if you wish to make blue or green bath salts.

Add several drops of an essential oil of your choice, then stir well to mix. Take a deep whiff of the sea salts to determine whether they are strongly scented enough for you. If not, add several more drops of the essential oil and mix well again. Repeat this process until the sea salts achieve your desired fragrance level. You can use only one essential oil or mix several together for a more complex scent.

Pour several drops of food coloring into the bowl of scented salts. As with the essential oils, you can blend two or more colors together or use only one color. Stir well to distribute the color through the salt. Add a few more drops of food coloring if necessary and stir well again. Repeat this process until your sea salts reach your desired color.

4
Transfer the scented, colored bath salts into an airtight glass container. Close the container and leave it alone overnight if possible. This will help the color and scent spread more evenly. If you prefer, however, you can use your new bath salts immediately.
