A Homemade Scarecrow Face for an Adult Halloween Costume
A scarecrow costume is a cost-effective option that is easy and fun to make. The base of the costume can be made using clothing laying around the house, such as a pair of old jeans or overalls, a plaid shirt and a straw hat. To finish it off, glue some raffia to the inside of the pockets and hat and draw a scarecrow face with makeup.

Instructions
-
-
1
Wash and dry your face.
-
2
Dab a makeup sponge into yellow or orange face paint and run the sponge all over your neck and face (including lips and eyelids). Repeat until your neck and face are entirely coated with the color.
-
-
3
Draw three "x" shapes over the lips with a black makeup stick. The goal is to create a mouth that looks as though it has been stitched together.
-
4
Draw patches on the forehead and cheeks with the black makeup stick. This can be done by drawing two or three vertical lines then two or three horizontal lines through them.
-
5
Draw a line with the black makeup stick from the outer corner of the eye outwards, about an inch long. For added definition, use a white makeup stick and draw a line directly on top.
-
6
Draw a triangle over the nose with a red makeup stick, then use the black makeup stick to draw stitch marks along the edges.
-
7
Coat your face in a thin layer of baby powder using a large blush brush. This will set the makeup so its less likely to run or smudge.
-
8
Glue bunches of raffia to the inside of a straw hat and place it on your head.

Tips & Warnings
Only use makeup that has been approved for use on the face.
Never apply make-up to your face without first conducting a skin test. To do this, dab a bit of makeup to the inside of your arm and wait an hour to see if a reaction occurs, such as a rash, irritation or welts.
