How to Decorate Your Corkboard Picture Holder

1
Measure and cut your chosen fabric so it is approximately 1 inch larger on all sides than your corkboard. Lay the piece of corkboard on top of the fabric and pull the fabric tightly around the edges, folding it like a present. Secure the fabric with thumbtacks to hold it in place.

Heat up your hot glue gun. Remove one thumbtack and apply the glue from the corner and along the edge until it reaches the next thumbtack . Do not replace the thumbtack after gluing. Instead, you will need to allow five minutes of drying time before moving on to the next section. This will allow the glue time to set up and hold the fabric securely in place. Repeat this process for all tacks until the fabric is secured to the board. Allow the fabric to dry completely for an hour.

Cut ribbon making sure it is long enough to cover the front of the board and wrap around to the back with at least 1 inch remaining. Once the fabric is dry, wrap the ribbon around the board diagonally and secure it with hot glue. Space the ribbons equally apart from each other. Repeat the process with more ribbons in the opposite diagonal direction. This will produce diamond shapes on the front. When the hot glue is dry, flip the board over and secure the cross-points of the ribbon with ornamental thumb tacks. You can also secure them with a simple stitch that runs through both ribbons, the fabric and the corkboard. The ribbon will shift if you do not secure it.

4
Allow the glue on the ribbons to dry completely. Place pictures between the fabric and the ribbons to secure them without the use of thumbtacks.
