Enrich the Easter season with a paper Easter basket.

The holidays bring celebration and gatherings with families and friends. Kids especially enjoy holidays and the hands on activities that they can get involved in. Keeping them busy with crafts will provide entertainment and an opportunity for them to be creative and construct something that they can be proud of. Instructions

    • 1

Cut eight 12 1/2 inch by 1 inch strips of varying colored construction paper.

    • 2

Cut an additional four 13 1/2 inch by 1 inch strips , and set aside.

    • 3

Place four of the 12 1/2 inch strips horizontally on your work surface, each about 1/2 inch apart.

    • 4

Weave the remaining four 12 1/2 inch strips through the center of the horizontal strips and close all gaps between the weaves. You will have a woven square in the center of a "+" shaped design.

    • 5

Fold all of the loose strips upward to make the sides of the basket.

    • 6

Use the remaining four strips to weave the sides of the basket together, and close all gaps for a tight weave.

    • 7

Trim the remaining ends of the loose strips, leaving 1 inch of paper on each strip, and glue the ends to the inside of the basket.

    • 8

Punch a hole on two opposite sides of the basket and use ribbon, pipe cleaners or decorative wire for the basket handle.
