How to Clean Dog Throw Up out of Your Carpet
If your dog is sick or old, you may need to remove and clean stains from dog throw up. Prevent stains from developing by cleaning the stains as soon as you notice them. If your dog regularly vomits, do not feed her food that contains food dyes as these could make the vomit stain your carpet easier. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Rubber gloves
- Cloths
- Liquid dish soap
- White vinegar
- Ammonia
- Spray bottle

Put on rubber gloves.

Remove as much of the vomit as possible with your hands and paper towels. Blot from the outside of the vomit stain toward the inside. Do not scrub or press the stains hard as this might work the vomit into the carpet or spread it.

Mix ¼ tsp. liquid dish soap with 1 cup of lukewarm water. Do not use liquid dish soap that contains bleach or strong odors as these could leave a residue that is hard to rinse out. Never use laundry detergent as it contains dyes that might damage the carpet.

Blot the stain with the solution, using a clean cloth. Work from the edges of the vomit stain toward the center so that you don't spread it. Work until the stain no longer transfers to the cloth.

Mix 1 cup white vinegar with 2 cups water.

Blot the vinegar solution into the stain with a clean cloth. Work until the stain no longer transfers.

Mix 1 tbsp. ammonia with 1 cup water.

Blot the ammonia solution onto the stain with a cloth. Work until you've completely removed the stain.

Press a cloth into the area to remove all of the cleaning solution. Mist the area with water from a spray bottle. Press a cloth into the area to soak up the water.
