How to Change your Default Photo Viewer

The default photo viewer is the program that launches automatically when you double-click on a photo. In Windows 7 and Vista, Windows Photo View is the default program photos open with; however, you can download and use other photo programs. When you have multiple photo programs installed, you can make any of them your default photo viewer.

      Click the "Start" menu and click "Default Programs."

      Click "Associate a file type or protocol with a program." Click the type of images you want the program to act as the default for and click "Change Program."

      Click the program you want to use as your default photo viewer. Click the arrow next to "Additional Programs" if you want to see additional programs. Click "Browse" if your program is not listed. Find the program you want to use and click "Open" to make it your default photo viewer.
