Instructions

    • 1

Decide on the area of your home that you want to protect from an intruder -- for example, the living room where there is a picture window leading to the outside, or the hallway leading to the front door or to a door leading to the attached garage.

    • 2

Open the battery compartment lid on the back of the wireless motion sensor alarm module -- there might be a screw to be removed with a Phillips jeweler's screwdriver first. Insert the appropriate batteries into the battery compartment -- lining up the positive and negative labeled contacts on the batteries with the positive and negative labeled text inside the battery compartment. Close the lid and reattach the screw if there is one.

    • 3

Move the "sensitivity" or "gain" knob or selector switch on the module to one setting below maximum -- the actual name of this knob or selector switch may vary depending upon the module's manufacturer. Place the module on the floor or wherever the instructions suggest, facing the window or door from about 10 feet away. Rotate the module so that its front, where the sensors are located, is facing the window or door.

    • 4

Place the wireless alarm control panel on a night table next to your bed or on a table in a room where you want the alarm to sound. Plug the control panel's power cord into a wall outlet for power. Extend an antenna, if one is present, and angle its tip in the general direction of the wireless motion sensor alarm. Press the "Power" button to turn the control panel on.

    • 5

Return to the wireless motion sensor alarm. Extend an antenna, if one is present, and angle the tip in the general direction of the control panel. Press the "Activate" or "Network sync" button -- the actual name will vary depending upon the manufacturer.

    • 6

Return to the control panel and press the same-labeled button to sync the wireless motion sensor alarm with the wireless control panel. Adjust the volume knob or slider on the control panel to its highest setting.

Tips & Warnings

  • Additional wireless security modules can be added to your wireless alarm system at any time.
