How to Upload Unlimited Photos for Free
The need to send photos over the Internet is common. However, emailing photo after to photo to countless recipients can get tiresome. Thankfully, you can upload images and make a sort of virtual scrapbook for all to see. This way, when you want to share photos with friends, all you have to do is send a link. There are several websites that allow you to upload as many pictures as you wish.

1
Resize your photos to a reasonable size, such as 800 pixels by 600 pixels. Some online galleries and photo books resize images automatically. However, if you are using one that doesn't, a visitor may encounter a magnified version that is larger than the computer screen. To save time and space on your gallery accounts, it's best to resize before uploading. It's also recommended that you save your images in a folder on your desktop so they're easy to find later.

2
Open an account with an online photo gallery. Most sites will require an email address and password to log in. Some sites -- such as Shutterfly, Snapfish and Badongo (see "Resources" below) -- offer free, unlimited image uploads.

3
Familiarize yourself with the user dashboard of the site that you plan to use. Most dashboards will have a menu at the top or to the left of the page. The faster you can find the option for which you're looking, the smoother your experience will be later on. Important factors to consider when choosing an upload site are your profile settings, privacy settings, the ability to make categories, promotional tools and the layout of your gallery.
-
4
Upload images by clicking "Upload" in your user dashboard. A window or button will pop up to allow you to "Browse" your computer for images. If you placed a folder on your desktop, you'll want to click on "Desktop" and then the folder you created, followed by the image that you'd like to upload. After your images are located, either double-click the file name or click "Okay" to confirm.
-
5
Follow the onscreen instructions and fill out as much information as you can for each file; include tags and captions. However, if you're given the option, upload your images in bulk. You can add captions, titles, categories and keywords later on when you organize your gallery.
-
6
Tag your images with information such as names, locations and anything else that comes to mind. For example, if you took a vacation in Vermont, "Vermont" should be one of your first tags or keywords. This makes it easy to find images with the website's search function.

Tips & Warnings
Save all of your images on a disk or external hard drive for later use. Websites come and go, so images you save online may not be available in the future.
